Careers education, information, advice and guidance plays an essential role in preparing students for the opportunities, responsibilities and expectations of life. Archway academy programme of relevant activates supports students from year 7 to year 11 to equip them to make the right choice and pursue the pathways that are right for them to be able to manage their careers and aspire to careers that help them feel fulfilled. All our students have the capacity to achieve great things; it is our goal to give them guidance they need to get there.

Archway Academy is committed to providing our students with a robust program of CEIAG from year 7 to 11 and beyond. As an academy, we strategically align with Redcar and Cleveland Council and Tees Valley Combined Authority to deliver a wide and varied careers programme to student’s whist working to meet the Gatsby Benchmarks framework. For more information on the Gatsby benchmarks please use this link:  Good Career Guidance | Education | Gatsby

At Archway, we embed enterprise, employability and quality careers guidance into the academy’s culture and curriculum with a focus on inspiring students for a better future. We are looking at development of soft skills and character development, workplace behaviours and exposure to the world of work.

Guidance

Archway Academy students and parents can make an appointment with Mrs Allison for any career’s advice and all year 11 students will receive one to one support throughout the year to explore their educational and career options. Mrs Allison will also support students in their transition to post-16 learning or training.

Parents and students can contact Mrs Allison (Inclusion and Career Lead) on (01642) 440225 or email louise.allison@horizonstrust.org.uk.

Please check Archways Facebook page for up-to-date information on LMI and local events.

Baker Clause

In line with the Baker Clause, we welcome other providers to come and speak to our students about their offering in order to provide them with an overview of all available options including apprenticeships, technical qualifications and A levels. Where possible, we will look to accommodate the request in full, however where we are unable to do so we will liaise with external providers to deliver a compromise. Please read Archway’s Provider Access policy for more information or contact Louise Allison on (01642) 440225 or email louise.allison@horizonstrust.org.uk.
