Key Stage 3

Our main aim within KS3 is for students to be equipped socially, emotionally and academically through a curriculum that supports a return to mainstream or a transition to a specialist provider once an Educational Health Care Plan is secured. Key Stage 4

Archway offers a broad and balanced Curriculum for students in Key Stage 4. The offer aims to facilitate effective transition from mainstream so students, where possible, can continue to study the GCSEs subjects that they started in mainstream. Additionally, our offer gives students who are already at Archway the opportunity to leave with up to 8 accredited qualifications that will allow them to progress to further education, training or employment.

Our core curriculum comprises English, Mathematics, Art, Science, Food Technology and PSHE with additional time provided for PE and Careers Guidance. Students choose from a range of accredited courses to complete their individualised timetable. The full list of courses offered to students is as follows:

The results of the parent survey indicate a high level of satisfaction with the quality of home/school communication. Specifically, 37.5% of parents rated it as excellent, 37.5% were satisfied, and 25% were neutral.
 
Parents expressed appreciation for the events organized, noting that they provided valuable information, celebrated their child's achievements, and acknowledged that some rewards were personalized to their child’s needs.
Additionally, parents requested more opportunities to celebrate success within the school and to engage in fundraising activities for the school.
 
Regarding induction, parents found the materials to be clear and easy to understand, contributing to their positive perception of the process. The quality and relevance of the information shared were also highly rated.
 
Parents indicated that they are aware of where to find school policies and consider them to be relevant, and they feel very involved in their child's education.
 
In response to the survey feedback, the school will offer additional opportunities for parent involvement in school activities and celebratory events. Upcoming events include an examination preparation evening for Year 11 parents and an Easter fair.
